in trying to teach my daughter that handmade gifts are best, she has understood me to mean that mama will attempt to make any gift she can come up with an idea for. it’s a start anyway.

her latest request was for a small sweater to fit her friend’s webkin snake. i balked, then took a step back and pondered. decided in the end that if it was worth doing, it was worth doing well.

so here’s the result. a simple turtleneck sweater for a stuffed snake with a spiraled design the length of it. the varigated yarn in the photo adds some flavor, but done in a solid color the spiralling stitches really pop.
