This cap was designed for the Phat Fiber June Ice Cream Social theme. You can find the pattern for free on the Phat Fiber Secret Site in June 2012! I was inspired by the memory of eating ice cream in a snow storm in Red Square. My parents thought the best time to visit Moscow would be December, and I just remember being c-o-l-d. To me, this hat is what a Russian beauty might wear… while eating ice cream in a snow storm in Red Square. Plus, it looks like melting ice cream!

This slouchy hat is a knitter’s dream! Knitted top-down with the option to add or subtract rows along the way, it’s ideal for hand spinners who don’t want to waste a single inch of their beautiful yarn (or for skeins of don’t-know-exactly-how-many-yards). Spin up a pile of beautiful samples from your Phat Fiber box, and rest assured that you’ll have enough yarn to complete your project. A worksheet is included to help you get the most out of your yarn! Also, for all you celebrities out there, add a pair of big sunglasses, and you can dodge the paparazzi. Or wear the sunglasses anyway and intrigue them!
