This snake scarf pattern is written out (with abbreviations and description) and comes with 40 color photos to illustrate the steps. This pattern is suitable for beginners who have some experience working in the round.

You can use DK to chunky yarn, depending on your yarn choice, the scarf will come out in different sizes. You can determine the length of your scarf yourself.

SIZE: toddler - adult depending on yarn choice

MATERIALS NEEDED:
* Yarn: Medium 4 or Bulky 5 size yarn, yardage depends on length of scarf and
thickness of yarn. Yarn used in this pattern is Bulky 5, Red Heart Chunky in
Malted any color yarn can be used, I recommend variegated or hand
painted colorways for a great effect. Use DK yarn for a smaller, child size scarf

  • approximately 200 yards for the snake
  • small amount of black (or other dark color) yarn to embroider mouth
  • small amount of red (or similar color) yarn for the tongue (optional)
  • crochet hook size I/5.5mm
  • crochet hook size G/4mm
  • polyfil or similar stuffing material for head
  • safety eyes, slit pupils, size 12-18mm (depending on size of yarn and taste, I used 14mm with chunky yarn)
  • stitch marker(s)
  • tapestry/darning/yarn needle
