What the heck is a Snidget, you ask? If you’re familiar with the Harry Potter series, you will recall the Golden Snitch used in Quidditch. Well, a snidget is a tiny, round gold bird that used to be used in the game before being replaced by the snitch. Or, so the story created in one of the Harry Potter groups on Ravelry goes.

The group was challenged to make something that was reminiscent of the snidget, and I landed on this hat. It’s bulbous shape and textured stitches bring to mind the round shape of the snidget and the fluff of its feathers.

  • Sample show was worked in a chainette-type yarn, with added texture on its own. Sample is size L on a 21” head.
  • Hat as worked was super stretchy with a lot of ease.
