Snow on the Peaks Fliptop Mittens
Flip-top mittens that combine the warmth and coverage of a full mitten with the convenience of fingerless mitts. These are started at the wrist with side-to-side ribbing and then worked upwards towards the fingertips. The split-single crochet gives a denser, sturdier fabric with a knit look. The spike stitches give texture and interest.
Yarn: The sample in the pattern is worked with good ole Red Heart Super Saver, but you can use your favorite worsted/aran/#4 weight yarn. You’ll need @ 200 yards
Sizing: This pattern is easily adjusted for various sizes. Information is given in the pattern for getting a smaller/larger mitt by adding/subtracting stitches and pattern repeats.
Materials: G/4.0mm hook, scissors, blunt tip needle, stitch markers
This pattern uses US terminology. Written and charted. Photo tutorials for the split single crochet stitch and for the spike stitch.
