The Snuff Mills socks are inspired by a favourite fishing spot of Mr. B and his late father. They feature stranded colourwork on the leg, (fish!), and on the foot, (just a few rows before the toe). These socks are also part of the ebook collaboration, Mr B & Me.

The socks are made cuff down and there are two options for the heel -- traditional heel flap or an afterthought heel. More experienced knitters can, of course, substitute their own favourite heels.

I’ve used three colours for my sample, but these could be made with just two colours or even 4 or 5. You only need small amounts for the contrast colours, so perfect for stashbusting!

The colourwork is not complicated, so these are suitable for someone just beginning with colourwork. The placement of the colourwork does not get in the way of fit.

SIZES AND FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
One size * Size can be adjusted with needle size and/or yarn choice
Upper leg length to top of heel: 5.5”/15cm
Actual foot circumference of sock (unstretched): 8 “/20.5cm
The foot length of the sock is adjustable. Your finished sock should be about .25”/.5cm less than the actual length of foot to ensure the best fit.
