Sophia is a slouchy, off the shoulder sweater that is intended to be worn loose. The pattern has a wide-neckline and open weave stitch pattern to provide plenty of “slouch” on the top half, contrasting with stocking stitch band with waist shaping at the bottom. The bottom section is created with 1 - 1 1/2” negative ease for a fitted look.

This pattern is worked from the top down and in the round, with the armbands worked separately. The pattern comes with all written instructions and charts.

The pattern includes five size ranges. Please note: this is a loose fitting, slouchy sweater and is not designed to be fitted across the bodice, hence the guide range for chest sizes.

The mesh pattern for this top is intended to be loose fitting and provide a slouchy drape. This effect will vary depending on the yarn chosen and, as a result, positive ease measurement may vary with different types of fibre. The mesh pattern may also grow significantly after blocking, particularly with the yarn suggested in the pattern. The key measurements for this garment are the neckband ribbing, armband ribbing, and bottom panel.

This pattern is intended for 10ply/worsted weight yarn and using other yarn weights may not provide intended drape effect and create inconsistent measurements.

Update July 2013
Sophia has received a make-over to include two additional sizes, pattern schematic and additional measurement information to assist with customising the pattern and yarn selection.
