Worked seamlessly from the bottom up, the Southwark cardigan for women features a textured stitch in the body and a Stockinette stitch yoke and sleeves.

The sleeves are worked separately and then joined to the body before finishing the yoke. Details include a garter welt at the sleeve ribbing and the continuation of the textured stitch along the raglan decreases. The length of the sweater is designed to hit at high-hip, and the generous sleeve length allows for plenty of room to cuff.

The finished chest measurements are 34 (36, 38, 40, 42, 44)“ / 86.5 (91.5, 96.5, 101.5, 106.5, 112)cm. The photo sample is shown in 34” with about 4” ease.

Yarn requirements are 1230 (1353, 1476, 1599, 1722, 1845) yards of DK weight.

Needles for this project are US 5 (3.75mm) and US 7 (4.5mm) 26”-35” circular needles as well as the same sizes in double pointed needles for the sleeves.

Directions are written and include three methods for finishing the underarm seam: grafting, 3-needle bind-off, and sewing.

Many thanks to ktlv for tech editing and to finey for test knitting.
