Beautiful leaves spiral in opposite directions on each hand. Fun lace pattern that’s easier than it looks. Thumb is knit in leaf motif. Takes less than 300 yds of fingering to sock weight yarn. Would be lovely in luxury yarn too…what about yak? yumm. or angora? cashmere? you won’t be able to stop at one pair, honest. I have Malabrigo Finito in Arco Iris waiting in the wings, also Bugga! in Carpathian Blue Slug.
The yarn in the photo is Ashland Bay Panda that I dyed with a wild melange of natural techniques (see my LV ltd Au Naturel Yarns). The basic color is from tickseed sunflower, a wild coreopsis that gives a butter yellow. I mordanted it with iron and red wine, then gave it an after dip in an alkaline bath. The subtle and exquisite colors that natural dyes provide look truly amazing in these gloves.
