In need of some fun crochet to kick out those winter blues? Get ready for a new mystery shawl crochet-along from Design Wars and Rohn Strong! There are 3 clues that will lead you to a wonderful and interesting adventure. Just grab your yarn, hook, and get to town!
What do I get?
You will receive the full pattern on March 18th along with the final update. When purchasing before the start date of March 10th you will not receive a pattern, the download is just an outline of the schedule and materials.
The pattern will be fully written out and a schematic provided.
Begin March 10th when the first clue is delivered, in the meantime have fun picking out your yarn colors!
Important Note: This pattern is written in both US and UK crochet terms!
When will I get the next clue?
The schedule for the clues is as follows:
10 Mar – Part 1
13 Mar – Part 2
16 Mar – Part 3
18 Mar – Final Reveal!
You will receive a PM in your Ravelry inbox and an email when the update is ready to download (you may wish to turn on Ravelry messages if you have turned them off because they are not subject to spam filters the way email is). Please be away that when I initiate an update it enters a queue and can take several hours before they all arrive. Please be patient when you see that the first people have received theirs, yours is on the way!
What yarn should I use?
There are literally endless options. Of course I recommend the yarn used in the sample, Red Heart Soft! As for colors I’d suggest anything bright, fun, and spring like! You will not need to blog with piece and swatching isn’t entirely necessary (although encouraged!).
As for colors, you can choose either one…or three! Personally I love the way a three color shawl looks, but it is totally up to you!
I am obsessed with the following yarns:
Red Heart Soft in Grape, Grass Green and Off White
Lion Brand Heartland in Redwood
Caron Simply Soft in Neon Pink
I totally understand the choice not to swatch for a shawl, but make sure that you like the fabric you’re getting and remember that gauge affects the amount of yarn used – have extra on hand!
