This pattern will show you how to make a quick and easy beanie using leftover yarn from your stash. The beanie is made in the round on circular needles using 2 strands of medium weight (4) yarn held together. One strand stays the same throughout the entire pattern and the second strand can change colors as many times as you’d like in order to use up your stash. This works for making the entire hat in one color, large stripes of color, or even small stripes of color with tiny bits of scrap yarn.

The hat is fairly one size fits all (it has a lot of stretch), but also includes a large version for the biggest noggins among us.

You’ll need 50 yds of the main color for the smaller size or 75 yds of the main color for the larger size. And you’ll need an equivalent amount of scrap yarn to act as the second strand (which could be 1+ colors, depending on how you want to design yours)

It’s knit on 16” circular 8.0 mm needles for the brim and body of the hat. You can switch to equivalent double pointed needles or a long circular needle for the decreases (if you prefer the magic loop method).
