The inspiration for the Stratus toque came from the exposed layers of rock that you can see all over the coastal cliffs of California.

This hat is knit in two parts: the brim first, knit to fit; then the crown. I-chord edging is knit on the brim last.

This hat can be knit in less than one skein of Buckwheat Bridge Angoras farm worsted naturals (light worsted for replacement yarns).
Multi-colored versions are great for stash busting and only require about 100 yds each of two colors.

This pattern can easily accommodate different yarn weights; just adjust the needle size accordingly.
