A beautiful thick cowl that knits up quickly with DK yarn. Whether you are looking for an extra-warm double-wrap cowl for deep winter, or try the single version for chilly mornings.

Incorporating twisted stitches and yarnovers for a lace border and a textured knit-and-purl argyle-inspired body.

Dk Yarn: Approximately 200g/420m for the Double-Wrap Cowl and 100g/250m for the Single Cowl. African Expressions Express Yourself DK was used to work up the Large Cowl and Elle Pure Gold DK was used for the Small Cowl. Both yielded the same gauge. Feel free to change your yarn as you see fit.

Stitch patterns are both charted and written.

3.5mm circular needle. Stitch markers (optional). Tapestry needle for weaving in ends.

24sts and 40 rounds = 4 inches with 1 strand of DK yarn and 3.5mm needle. Measured before blocking and using the Argyle Stitch pattern. The Argyle Stitch Pattern is made up of knits & purls. You could also use Stockinette Stitch as a guide to gauge. As this is not a fitted garment, as long as your gauge falls as close as those suggested as possible, you can block to the finished sizing.

Small (Single) Cowl: 30-inch circumference x 7.5-inch width.
Large (Double-Wrap) Cowl: 60-inch circumference x 7.5-inch width.

I will be uploading a fine-gauge, 3-ply version of this cowl with slight pattern variation soon.
