Nikola Tesla (1856-1943) was an inventor, electrical engineer, mechanical engineer, physicist, and futurist best known for his contributions to the design of the modern alternating current (AC) electricity supply system. His namesake hat features cabled lightning bolts and is sized for the whole family, It will look best in solid or semi-solid yarn. Be sure to choose a yarn with good stitch definition. The cables are worked on a stockinette background, so the only purling involved is in the ribbed edge. For a subtle texture appropriate for your favorite scientist, use a subdued shade of yarn; for a wilder look, try using a contrasting color for the cabled stitches.

The stitch pattern is provided in both written and charted form. The pattern is designed to be worn with 0” to 2” / 0 to 5 cm negative ease.
