Cardigan is worked in 3 pieces: Back, Left and Right Front.

Each piece is worked from lower edge upwards in the Star St pattern.

The front, neck and armhole bands are worked from sts picked up on Cardigan.

A circular needle is used to accommodate the number of sts in the front and neck band. Work back and forth in rows on the circular needle, just as if working on straight needles.

When the pattern tells you to slip a st, slip as if to knit or as if to purl, whichever look you prefer.

When you see ‘work in pattern as established’ in the instructions, this means to work the next row of the pattern st, lining up sts as in previous rows.

When you see ‘work even’ in the instructions, this means to continue on in the pattern st you have established without changing the st count by increasing, decreasing, or binding off.
