Textured Toast II combines top-down triangle-shawl construction with textured stitch motifs. An easy repeat makes this a project you can knit to any size, from kerchief to full-sized shawl. It works with any reasonable yarn, and because of this, gauge can be considered free.

Originally designed around handspun yarn, this project should lend itself fairly well to both full hanks of commercial yarn and good combinations of scraps.

The main sample is shown in a hank of sport- to DK-weight Shetland wool handspun in a natural gradient from fleece white to fleece black.

Gauge is for dk/sportweight handspun yarn, and the measurements given reflect that. Finished measurements are determined by you!

Materials:

  • 330-660+ yards (kerchief to shawl minimum) of Knitpicks Fingering Gloss or similar yarn
  • 1 48”circular needle in US4-5/3.5-3.75mm, or size needed for gauge.
  • Removable stitch markers, if desired
  • Tapestry needle for weaving ends

Gauge:
Gauge can be adjusted to suit your yarn! For the sample shown, gauge is 16 sts and 32 rows in 4”/10cm in blocked garter stitch.
