The shape is that of an asymmetrical triangle with tip cut off (or, more mathematically, of a long trapezoid).

The shawl is crocheted with slip stitches. The pattern comes with photo tutorials for all stitches and techniques used, i.e.

• front loop only slip stitch (F)
• back loop only slip stitch (B)
• inverse front loop only slip stitch (iF)
• inverse back loop only slip stitch (iB)
• short rows (and how to make them look neat on both sides)
