One of the Newport Summer Cottages, The Breakers has been a glamorous “pile” for one of the Vanderbilts since 1895. Three “ropes” of Antique Diamonds seemed just the right amount of bling for this triangle shawl—when you’re a Vanderbilt, you don’t need to shout. Everything is finished with a beautiful knitted-on edging.

Sample shown measures 60 inches (152.5 cm) wingspan x 23 inches (58.5 cm) back neck to hem and was knit with two cones of Halcyon Yarn Newport Linen or 600 yds (550 m) of light fingering weight yarn.
