The Brioche and Marle cowl came together before I went to my first Vogue Knitting Live in January 2018. I had a few days to put a look together for the event that showed I was a knitter (even if only for a year at that point), I could design (even though it was my second design project), and I looked good wearing my designs (even though I’ve never thought of myself as a model).

It’s a blend of Brioche stitches and Marled knit stitches. I’ve written out and charted the pattern which is flexible in how long or wide you want the final product to be.

8 brioche stitches with smaller needles and 16 garter stitches with bigger needles per 4” after blocking.

2 skeins of fingering weight yarn, between 300-400 yards of each. Preferably with high contrast, a dark and light tone.
