In honor of superhero nerds everywhere, I created The Freedom Throw, inspired by Captain America’s shield. An American star-in-circle shield motif lies in the center of this circular afghan, sized perfectly for display on the back of your sofa. Want to crochet a set of patriotic disc place mats? Easy! Just stop crocheting after the motif and you have the perfect size for your place setting. Make as many as you need.

Skill level: Intermediate (Level 3)

Materials Needed:
Worsted weight yarn
Size J-10 (6.00 mm) crochet hook
Large-eye blunt needle for weaving in ends

Approximate finished size:
Throw diameter - 36.5 inches/92.7 cm (inner motif diameter - 16.5 inches/42.0 cm)

-Works up quickly
-Crocheted in the round
-No motifs to sew together
-4 PDF pages with color photos
-Email/message support available
