Alternate yarn choice Dream in Color - Starry the Gauge is 18 stitches over 4 inches in garter 450 yards required this yarn is a 4 ply fingering weight.

Evelyn Howard is a wide, shallow garter stitch based triangle scarf. It has lace edges that are knit at the same time as the body. The scarf is knit from corner to corner. What makes this scarf unusual is that the lace edging is on all three sides of the garter stitch triangle and the scarf is completely reversible. It is designed to be made with any amount of yarn in any gauge so it could easily be adapted to a larger shawl size.
