This motif is the second one in the series of 7 in The Hexagon Project 2013. The theme for The Hexagon Project 2013 is lacy simplicity. Each month from May to October a new hexagon motif design will be published to add to the collection. At the end of this period all 7 designs will be published as The Hexagon Project 2013.

All hexagons are designed to be the same size so that they can be joined together and used to create a blanket or a cushion, table runner…..use your imagination! They are written for one continuous colour but can be done in many colours by changing colour at the start of each round. The motifs are suitable for those fairly new to crochet who can crochet in the round.

A grid showing one layout of the hexagons will be published with July’s motif. A guide to joining motifs will be included in the final publication.

The size of each motif is 20 cm (8 inches) from point to point in aran weight yarn. But please note that I do crochet fairly loosely. You can make them in any yarn provided you use a suitable hook size.

The pattern is written in English and US crochet terms and is charted.

Those people who join The Hexagon Project 2013 ‘club’ will be sent each new motif design free at the start of each subsequent month, provided they remain a member at the time of each release. To join the club you must become a member of the Agrarian Artisan Designs group here on Ravelry and set up a project for the Hexagon Project using the tag 2013hexagon, this must use The Hexagon Project 2013 designs and link to one of them. Those who remain members throughout the release period (from May to October) will be sent the final publication free. A discussion thread for the Hexagon Project has been established on the Agrarian Artisan Designs forum….. come and join the fun and share the progress on your hexagon project :-)
