Story Maker: an illustrated book of knitting, fibre & fable is a short illustrated novel with 12 original knitting patterns inspired by the story. The print version is available here.

The Landlady’s Fingerless Gloves are lace weight elbow-length fingerless gloves knit from the cuff to the hand. The outside of the gloves features an Estonian lace blossom motif, the inside of the forearm features subtle cabling that acts as shaping to taper the glove to the wrist. The thumb is formed by working the stitches flat to create an opening, then rejoining in the round to finish.

Yardage: Approx. 175 (210, 250, 280) yds / 160 (192, 229, 256) m.

Needles: US Size 3 / 3.25 mm set of 4 or 5 dpns, or size necessary to obtain gauge.

Notions: Stitch markers, tapestry needle.

Special Techniques:

  • lace knitting in the round

  • simple cables
