The Manchester Hat is a little proper and a little saucy which makes an interesting fashion statement. Design features include a bold curvy cable, a thick brim and a top with a distinctive pattern of five lines. Two sizes are included.

This is an excellent knitting pattern to practice or to learn cable knitting. The pattern is written with each cable stitch explained below the corresponding line.

Materials:
90 yards of #5 bulky yarn
U.S. Size 10 16-inch circular needle and dpns
Stitch marker
Cable needle

Gauge:
Using #5 bulky yarn and a U.S. Size 10 needle: stockinette 12 stitches x 18 rows = 4 inches by 4 inches. Note: To create a firmer fabric, a smaller size needle was used than suggested on the yarn band.

Measurements:
Small: 19-inch circumference; 7 inches high
Medium/Large: 22-inch circumference; 7.5 inches high
The rolled brim makes a snugger fitting hat so allow for that in your size selection.
