This pattern was formerly the TTL Mystery Shawl 2016.

Thistle Rambles is a top down, two-color half-pi shawl. I recommend a solid or near solid yarn for both colors. I do not recommend highly variegated yarns for this pattern. If you prefer single color shawls, this pattern will also look lovely in one color.

Thistle Rambles may be worked in any weight yarn, but keep in mind that the heavier the yarn, the more yarn you will need. The sample shawl used approximately 325 yards of MC and approximately 400 of yards of CC of fingering weight, Kettle Yarn Co.’s Beyul. Be sure to allow extra. The amount of yarn needed will vary with slight differences in personal gauge, yarn weight, fiber, and brand (even within same yarn weight category).

Although this is a shawl, it is important to obtain gauge in order to avoid running out of yarn and to have your finished shawl match the size indicated. Adjust needle size as necessary to obtain gauge. The gauge given above is a blocked gauge.
