Hello, sweeties! This is the first pattern in a series inspired by the Companions of Doctor Who.

River Song never travelled with the Doctor for long, and her history with him is so complex it’s difficult to categorise her as a Companion. She’s a bit human, a bit Time Lord, and a force to be reckoned with. River can be a formidable warrior and a femme fatale, depending on her mood - sometimes both at the same time. She is certainly one of my favourite characters and deserved to be represented… even if she’s technically not a Companion.

Designed with a beautifully soft camel/silk blend, Tri’Coterie Lace Camsilk in the colourway “Riversong,” this long cowl is soft and feminine lace paired with strong garter and slip stitch edging to represent both sides of River’s personality. The pattern includes a step-by-step picture tutorial for the long slip stitch patterning, and the garter edges are worked flat so there is no purling. The entire cowl is worked in one piece in the round.

The beautiful inspired colourway “Riversong” is available from Tri’Coterie’s Ravelry group.
