This is the hat sample my husband and I each “fought” to keep for our own!

This hat features an organic wavy textured pattern
that defies the repetitive standard of many knit motifs.
But don’t worry, just as in nature, there is a rhythm to
it; it’s not hard to work it up.

The hat is worked in 4 sections from the bottom up,
decreasing at the crown.

Size
Hat can be made in 2 different circumferences -49.5
(54.2) cm/ 19½(21¼)” - and 3 different depths - 22.5
(23.9, 25.4)cm 8¾ (9½, 10”) - are available for each
circumference .

Materials
Yarn: 201m (220y)/ 3.5oz (100g) medium weight
plied 100% superwash wool yarn or similar. Samples
shown in Polka Dot Sheep PDS Worsted “ Ptarmigan”
and Malabrigo Rios “Teal Feather.”
Fibre: (Optional for pompom) 0.5oz (15g) merino fibre.
Sample shown in Malabrigo Nube “Aguas”
Tools:
4.5mm/US7 40cm/ 16” circular needle and 4.5mm/US7
Double Pointed Needles (or magic loop equivalents) or
size to achieve gauge, 4 stitch markers, pompom maker
(optional), and tapestry needle.

Gauge
18 sts/28 rows = 10cm/4” in pattern.
