An Australian wombat to knit and cuddle – this is a very cuddly toy!

Make it in two sizes by using different thicknesses of yarn and size of needles.
The pattern has detailed instructions for assembling the pieces, which are made flat on two needles, with gussets to give better shape.

Best for an intermediate knitter with a little toy-making experience.

Inspiration for this toy wombat came from Jackie French’s children’s books, as well as the lovely Australian animals they represent.
Have a look at “Diary of a Wombat” and “Grandma Wombat” – wonderfully funny for kids and adults alike!

The Australian bushfire fundraising campaign, for aiding affected wildlife, has now ended.
In total, the 6 patterns involved raised AU$1,610 – a fantastic result!
Thank you to everyone who contributed by purchasing a pattern.❤️
