This Traditional Guernsey Pullover is a good introductory design, modelled on the Cornish designs with a textured yoke and plain body. It is work back to front to reduce the weight while knitting though experienced Guernsey knitters may prefer to work in the round and work the sleeves downwards.

The moss stitch panels are edged with vertical rows of knit stitches and there is a vertical row separating the half points from the adjoining cable panel.

Please note the moss stitch panels at the side of the front and back are not knitted in sizes 1 and 2, and vary in width in the other sizes. These panels are larger in the larger sizes. The garment in these photos is in size 6.

Thank you for choosing this Blacker Yarn pattern. We hope you will enjoy making it and using or wearing your finished piece. If you have any questions of feedback, please do contact us at:

Pretty straightforward, just need to keep counting to 8! Techniques used include increases and decreases, picking up stitches for neck.

SIZES AND YARN REQUIRED
Finished measurements
The straight shaping and sleeve setting mean there is positive ease of around 10cm / 4 inches. Historically, Guernseys would have been close fitting, so if you want a traditional tight fit make the size smaller than you would normally use, otherwise to wear over other things and for more of a tunic style make the size larger.
Finished measurements
Chest: 91 (96, 101, 106, 111, 116, 121, 126) cm / 36 (38, 40, 42, 44, 46, 48, 50) inches
Length from neck to hem: 70 (70, 73, 73, 76, 76, 76, 78) cm / 27.5 (27.5, 29, 29, 30, 30, 30, 31) inches
