You will need a size US 3 (3.25 mm) circular needle at least 48” (120 cm) long

You will also need 6 buttons. Rowan used #RW5030 from Bedecked in the UK. These buttons measure 1.8 cm each and were sewn with the reverse side showing.

Note: The chart pattern is knit using a single ball of yarn A (Felted Tweed) throughout. Separate balls of yarn B (Kidsilk Haze) are added to the existing strand of yarn A to create the Intarsia patterns. In other words, for the motifs, use one strand of both A and B when you reach that point. You will not have to carry yarn in the back of the work this way.
