2014’s Mystery Sock KAL began on January 15th and lasted for 5 weeks.

Starting on January 15th, and once a week for 5 weeks, the clues were released in the following order:
Cuff - January 15
Leg- January 22
Heel- January 29
Foot- February 5
Toe- February 12

Please join us in the Fans of Through the Loops group for the KAL, where you can post progress photos, ask questions, and enter to win prizes.

The pattern calls for two colors. The sock is knit mostly in a single color with small sections of the contrast color. Approximately 25-35 yards of the contrast color will be enough. If desired, the Mystery Sock may be knit using a single color.

This year’s sock is offered in two sizes.
S/M fits 7.5-10.5” foot & ankle circumference (cast on is 64 sts)
M/L fits 8.5-11.5” foot & ankle circumference (cast on is 72 sts)
If your size falls outside of these two ranges, adjust your gauge for a smaller or larger fit.

The length of the sock is customizable, so select the size based on the circumference of the foot and ankle, and not shoe size.

The pattern is written for double pointed needles, but may be easily adjusted for other sock knitting techniques. Feel free to use the method you are most comfortable with. Both charts and written instructions are included for the stitch patterns.

Be sure to show off your socks in the Fans of Through the Loops Group.
