“Ewww…Tunisian crochet is thick and stiff and the edges curl up!” Well, that’s the myth, at least. This delightful scarf busts all of those claims. The fabric is soft, supple, and so thin that the scarf will scrunch up into a tiny ball.

The primary stitch is called Tunisian Bump Stitch (tbs), which is worked into the back bump of the return pass chain, and is just as easy to do as Tunisian Simple Stitch. Full instructions, with photographs, are provided in the pattern.

This is Tunisian crochet for all seasons. Worked in fingering weight wool with a size J afghan hook, this neck-warmer weighs less than two ounces. It’s light enough for Summer evenings but will keep the chill of Winter away, as well. This pattern also works with heavier yarn and a larger hook to create a more substantial fabric. Either way, the keyhole will keep the scarf neatly in place.

American terminology is used throughout.
