These comfy mittens and fingerless mitts were designed to co-ordinate with Turbo Hat, but of course they also look great on their own. They feature the same garter stitch cuffs and lace panel as the hat. Like the hat, they were designed to show off handpainted yarns but they look just as wonderful in a solid, tonal, or heathered yarn.

Level: Adventurous beginner to intermediate

Skills required: Long-tail cast on, basic increases and decreases, Kitchener stitch (mittens), purlwise bindoff (fingerless mitts)

Instruction type: Entirely written, no charts.

Construction: Worked from cuff to fingertips with a gusset thumb. The pattern is written generically so as to accommodate all small circumference techniques: dpns/ magic loop/ 2 circulars, both one at a time and two at a time.

Yarn: The fingerless mitts use about 100 yards of worsted or aran weight yarn and the mittens use about 130 yds.

Size: The pattern is written for one size only, but these mitts are very stretchy. Unstretched they will fit a 7” wrist/palm but they will expand to fit up to an 8 1/2” wrist and 9” palm.

Many thanks to my testers for their feedback.
