Turtsie and Tartsie are in love! From the first time Turtsie set his little beady eyes on Tartsie he knew that she had to be his!
This set of turtles were created for Valentines Day and inspired by the pet turtles our family has in our home. They are an easy knit and the most difficult part of their construction is the shell that is worked in intarsia with Patons Astra medium brown and Patons Canadianna in Medium Green Tea. Complete line by line instructions are given for the working of the shell. The main part of the body is knit in Loops and Threads Joy DK in Leaf color. This is a subtle soft yarn that is truly a “joy” to work with.
The heart that Turtsie is offering lovingly to his sweetie is worked in Sirdar Snuggly Wuggly Snowflake. It could easily be done in any eyelash or boucle yarn if you choose.
Instructions are given with photos and schematics for the creation of the tiny ball cap that adorns Turtsie’s head and slso for the heart ornament and Tartsie’s headband.
