Thankfully, many of you have gotten so much better about having bags when you come to get your yarny delights, but for those of you who still need practice, or more handy bags, Turtle Surprise is the best! It tucks in to be just about a 4” diameter sphere, but easily holds loads! The picture you see here - it has FOURTEEN balls (100grams each!) of Zooey in it. With room to spare! It is really great for all your marketing, not just the fun yarn kind. ;)

Why on earth would I name this Turtle Surprise? Welllll….

A couple of weeks ago, there were some kids skateboarding off the step in front of the shop - careening into the parking lot. It was pretty active at all the businesses in the building and I was worried that they were going to get hurt by an incoming car, or run into someone coming in or out - so I went out and told them that they had to take their skateboards elsewhere for the time being. Well! They were annoyed at me, let me tell you! They followed me back into the shop where the following hilarious conversation took place.

Kid #1: Do have any orange yarn?
Me: Yup
Kid #1: How much is it?
Me: It depends on which orange yarn one gets. (Knowing full well they weren’t buying anything - they just came in so they could TELL ME)
Kid #2: (Looking at the hand-dye): Do you make this stuff?
Me: Yup, it is hand dyed. (Wait for it - we’re finally at the good part)
Kid #2: OMG! You kill turtles to make yarn!! That’s disgusting!
Me: Um. Nooo…yarn is made from sheep - it is a haircut. They don’t kill them.
Kid #2: Oh man, no! I can tell it is made out of turtles! I can’t shop here! I can’t support bestiality!
Me: Mmmm..ok. That’s a good thing to not support, but I don’t think you know what that word means….
Kid #1: Oh no. We know!
Both mock huff out.

Later that week, I had this bag sitting on the table, tucked in, but not closed as you can see in the third picture. And one of my friends shrewdly remarked, “Yuh know…that really does look like and overturned turtle that you are rendering yarn from.” LOL - I almost died. So….Turtle Surprise for all your turtle yarn and marketing needs. :slightly_smiling_face:
