OK, it’s a stitch pattern, so make of it what you want. I cast on 61 stitches, did 5 rows of seed stitch, and continued 3 stitches of seed stitch along each side, ending with 5 rows of seed stitch. It’s a washcloth!

Or knit more rows of seed stitch (I know, it’s almost a penance.) and then do more border stitches and more repeats, and it’s a baby blanket!

Or… I don’t know. Surprise me.

Nice that it lies flat without much coaxing, and that it’s pretty nearly a square gauge. One stitch repeat is about as wide as one row repeat is tall.
