Twisted Float Shrug (Circular Shrug)
Originally seen in Vogue Knitting, Fall 2005,:
this pattern has been substantially altered from the original to allow the knitter to use ANY yarn and work it up in ANY size. This is a universal pattern.
The body of Annie Modesitt’s cardigan is knit in a circle from the center back outward. The "stained glass" effect--alternate garter-stitch stripes and two-stitch color changes with floats on the right side--is achieved with Lorna’s Laces’ "Shepherd Worsted" and piped with mohair-blend "Grace" boucle, also from Lorna’s Laces. The sweater moonlights as a shrug when worn with the shorter side on the bottom; the longer side folds into a dramatic shawl collar.
Pattern requires 4-5 skeins Shepherd Worsted main color, 2 skeins Shepherd Worsted contrast color, and 2-3 skeins Grace
