Classic Estonian style in a generously sized lace shawl. Knit in one piece, the body is worked first. Lace edge border is then picked up around the entire perimeter and knit in the round. No seams!!!!!!

The body motif is styled after “Immortal Flower”. The classic edging updated with the addition of beads for an elegant accent.

Working knowledge of Nupps and construction in the round is helpful for this pattern. Pattern is entirely in both charts and row by row written instructions.

I have used Knit Pick Stroll Fingering in the model. I usually keep to natural fibers only, but this one, 75% merino wool and 25% nylon was quit surprising. Extremely soft, blocked like magic and the drape is light and airy.

6 skeins of yarn ( 1360 - 1380 yds. ), Size #6 needles, a 32” circular for the border, 400 6/0 glass beads (opitional ) and 4 stitch markers are needed for this pattern.

Length and width can be adjusted easily by changing the pattern repeats, but you will need to recalculate the stitch count for the border. As with most shawls, different weight yarn can easily be substituted, just be aware the overall effect does change slightly.

I will be putting together a few kits of this shawl, available in my Etsy store.
