Vacation is a fun two-colour shawl that mixes slipped stitches and lace with relaxing garter stitch. The shawl is knitted top down with increases placed at the beginning and end of every row to produce a crescent shape. Vacation was created using Ridgy-Didge, a soft merino wool and nylon fingering yarn, from Dingo Dyeworks. Choose two beautiful skeins of yarn and you’re ready to cast on!

Yarn
Dingo Dyeworks Ridgy-Didge (85% Merino Wool, 15% Nylon; 437 yards/400 metres per 3.5 oz/100 grams). Shown in Dirranbandi (Colour A) and Mandalay (Colour B), 1 skein of each colourway.

Needles & Notions
US 6/4 mm circular needle, 32 inches/80 cm or longer (to accommodate the large number of stitches); Stitch marker (optional).

Gauge
16 stitches and 34 rows per 4 inches/10 cm in garter stitch. Gauge is not crucial but a different gauge will alter the finished size, drape and amount of yarn required.

Finished Measurements
Wingspan across top 96 inches/244 cm; Depth down spine 20 inches/51 cm after blocking.
