Please note:
Velvet is offered as pattern for the stole and there is a separate pattern for a scarf, which does look completely different, but is based on the same technique.

The scarf pattern includes charts only
The stole pattern includes written pattern only. No charts, because the pattern is hard to visualize as chart.

EDIT:
Just a short note for the ones who don’t have Wollmeise DK yarn. At least in Germany there is a good substitute yarn available: “Big“ by Lana Grossa. It’s yardage is 240 m per 100 g. Maybe you need some more sts to cast on at least for the scarf.

The texture of the yarn is similar to Wollmeise DK. Wollmeise DK yardage is 214 m per 100g.

Measurements
unblocked:
approx. 198 cm x 28 cm (55 cm widest part)
approx. 78” x 11” (22” widest part)

blocked:
approx. 194 cm x 49 cm (78 cm widest part)
approx. 76.5” x 19.5” (31” widest part)

The first half of the garment is knitted from the center to the end. Then, the second half is attached to the cast on edge. For cast on, I recommend a provisional cast on method which will create only one cast on row, like the
provisional crochet cast on as shown here.

Methods like Judy‘s Magic cast on will not work, because they create a second row which you need to rip back to keep the ribbing pattern for the second half of the garment. Other provisional methods also may not work and it‘s recommended to use the method linked only.

Cable stitches: although the directions suggest the use of a cable needle for the 2x2 cabling, I highly recommend cabling without a cable needle. This is a much faster and time saving method. If you are not familiar with this method check out videos on YouTube as shown here.
