I’m trying to design down my stash this year and get my hands on some skeins of yarn I’ve been waiting to squish!

The VSOP Hat was designed for that purpose - so just grab that skein of special worsted you’ve been hanging onto and cast on.

After knitting the VSOP Mitts, I wanted just a little more of this cable, and this gorgeous skein of Forge, a new yarn from Hudson & West Co. was just waiting to be knit. It’s got great stitch definition, a soft feel on the hands, and just the right amount of squish for a cabled hat!

The VSOP Hat is a simple beanie, showcasing a beautiful cable motif that features alternating small and large cabled “V”s (hence the name) as you work upwards. As always, I played a little at the brim and crown, but this is a pretty straightforward project, and it knit up in less than 2 days!

The matching VSOP Mitt pattern is also available and was knit in Wisconsin Woolenspun leftovers from my Bijou Sweater. - another special yarn I couldn’t bear to see go to waste.

I love having the “set” - and if you’d like to knit both patterns, the Raverly code VSOPSET will get you both patterns for $10. No expiration date.

There are notes in pattern for adjusting fit, and cables are both written and charted.
