Walk the Line
Walk the Line is a top-down, seamless cardigan with set-in sleeves, V-neck and longer back.
The upper back is worked first from the shoulders to the underarms, then the stitches of the fronts are picked up from the cast on edges of the back shoulders and fronts are worked to the underarms.
Then the pieces are joined and worked in one piece to the hem. The back is slightly longer than the front, the slope is shaped with short rows.
The stitches of the sleeve caps are picked up around the armholes then they are shaped with short rows.
Sleeves are worked in the round from the underarm to the cuff.
Finally the collar and front bands are worked in rib pattern back and forth in rows.
A single row of horizontal braid decorates the cuffs and the hem and adds interest to this otherwise very simple cardigan.
