Wallflower
by Dawn Barker
Wallflower is a right triangle shawl that combines the techniques of slipped stitch colorwork and Assigned Pooling into one fantastic stitch collab.
Assigned Pooling occurs when a change in stitch and texture is assigned to changes in color within a skein of variegated yarn. In this case, simple knits and slips are assigned to the main color to create a backdrop for the cluster stitch assigned to the accent color.
Yarn: 2 skeins of Barker Wool Zephyr in the AP colorway Embers
plus 1 skein of Barker Wool BFL Fingering in Steadfast.
Finished Measurements: 65” wide x 30” deep after blocking.
Needles: US size 5 (3.75 mm)
Gauge: 20 STS x 28 rows = 4” x 4” in pattern.
Additional Equipment: A scale that weighs in grams, 2 stitch markers.
