The Seamen’s Church Institute (SCI) asks knitters to help
increase awareness of mariners’ contributions by making—and hiding in plain sight—mini mariners’ watchcaps. The hats draw attention to the fact that mariners, whose work often goes unnoticed, deliver more than 90% of all imported goods.

HOW IT WORKS Knit the miniature cap; sign and attach an official tag (email us and we’ll send tags to you); put the tagged watchcap in a place others will see between Thanksgiving and New Year (position
your cap responsibly) and share photos, videos and stories online with the hashtag #WATCHthisCAP.

The pattern is written for worsted weight yarn, but the proportions will work in lighter and heavier weights as well.
