Wee Black Faced Sheep
(Wee Black Faced Sheep pattern includes both jumpers shown in photographs)
Recommended Gauge
For Body - measured over stocking stitch using 5mm needles, 17 sts and 21 rows to 10 cm square.
For Jumper (sweater) - measured over stocking stitch using 6mm needles, 15 sts and 22 rows to 10 cm square.
Wee Black face measures approximately 24-25 cm from his bottom to the top of his head, when seated. (Measurement does not including lower legs)
This wee sheep was inspired by the Blackface sheep is found all over Britain but particularly in Scotland where the breed forms the backbone of the Scottish sheep industry. They can be easily identified by their black (or mostly black) faces and often quite spectacular curly horns!
He is designed to sit upright with legs dangling. The base can be weighted with popcorn kernels or similar. This would not be suitable if giving to a child.
