These socks are a fun, unique design reminiscent of the regal whales’ tails we see in New England. The repeated lacy cable runs up the back of the leg with a ribbed front, and a portion of the back-leg design is repeated along the top of the foot to the toe. The short row heel fits snugly and has clean lines. I loved knitting them with North Light Fibers’ Forever Lace, a mixture of baby alpaca from their farm on Block Island, Rhode Island, and bamboo.
