If you’re going on a whale watching tour or visiting the Pacific Rim Whale Festival, you’re going to want to bring one of these warm and wooly stranded whale watcher’s toques with you.

The pattern is written for 3 sizes - child (ages 6-10), s/m adult and m/l adult, which could be tweaked with fewer rows after the whale motif and/or different gauges.

The instructions for the toque are written with abbreviations, while the waves and whale patterns are charted.
