Criminal Knits welcomes you to our annual New Year’s Eve MKAL!

This KAL will start at the stroke of midnight somewhere on planet earth. We’ll be knitting a shawl. Quite a large shawl actually… and here is the info:

Wicked Good: Is a Fair Isle shawl. Okay nobody faint! We won’t be working with more than two colors on any row, and you can do that, right?! If you know how to knit and purl you will be able to do this! Really. It will just take a little patience, and/or a fair amount of alcohol… and of course the crazy folks on the Criminal Knits…for the Serial Knitter in all of us. Group will be there to help you all the way!

Yarn: Kits are available here: link text from Unplanned Peacock.

If you want to make up your own kit you will need:
1 skein 370 yds variegated SPORT WEIGHT yarn.
AND
6 mini skeins approx. 185 yds SPORT WEIGHT yarn each.
1 of your 6 mini skeins MUST be in a natural/cream/white colorway.
The other 5 mini skeins should each be a color that is in your main variegated yarn. (so you’ll have 5 different mini solid/tonal colors and a natural/cream/white skein) Two of the colors should be fairly dark.
For reference look at the kit photos… and yes, the wilder the merrier - this is not a sedate shawl, although it could be!
For a more sedate version choose a quiet solid in place of the verigate (I’d go darkish) and then an off white and your 5 other colors. Again make sure two of them are darkish.

Needles: Size US7 (4.5mm) circular needles - 24” & 40”

Scared yet? roflmao No need to be. Just come join us over on the Criminal Knits…for the Serial Knitter in all of us. Group for all the fun and the truly outstanding camaraderie!
