Silk Road

Remembering, in springtime rain,
wild lilies bloom along our trail
we walk on plains, ‘cross valleys wide
on paths as old as mountainside,
the travelers past, that smoothed the stone,
the countless feet, that trod upon
the riverbanks. The streams and fields
to steady footstep have gently yield’.

In orange blaze, along the trails,
and up the rolling foothill swells,
wild lilies stand abloom and sway,
making me wish, Springtime would stay.

Wild Lilies is a sweet cowlette that follows the drifting thoughts on long overland treks, when the mind wanders while taking in swaths of wild lilies on the steppes, visible from afar in their blazing color.

The cowlette starts flat and is then joined in the round so it easily lays on your shoulders without danger of falling off. The lace patterns represent budding flowers and leaves, winding thoughts and end in a glorious border of open blooms.

The shape and size of this lend themselves to at least 3 ways to wear it! Either traditional with the point to the back, or as a asymmetric ponchette with the tip over one shoulder, and for colder days, snug it up and fold the shorter end forward around the neck, as shown in the photo! I am so in love with how versatile this has turned out to be!
