This pattern requires concentration, but the result is a unique ornamental texture and beautiful crown of this hat. You can wear both sides, like two different hats. The wavy edge shape is used as a protection for the ears which is also present on Peruvian hats. That was used as inspiration for the name and final appearance.

Shown beanie – normal women size (L/XL) is made with approx. 2x70gr woolen yarn, 133m/50gr.

SIZE – one size; this is very elastic pattern:

  • depth – 9”/22.5cm,
  • width – 10”/25cm.
  • circumference is 50cm or 20” (1cm=2.5”). It is enough for woman and head circumference up to 58cm or 23”. This is en elastic pattern. If you need a wider one (for man’s hat), should take a little thicker needles (4mm - 4.5mm) and yarn no thinner than 125m/50gr.

You need:

  1. Intermediate brioche knitting knowledge;
  2. Needles
    • 16” (40cm) circular needle in US 4/3,5mm
    • US 4/3,5mm DPN’s (3+1 or 4+1 double pointed needles)
    • hook 3,5mm or tapestry needle for weaving in ends;
  3. 2 balls (1 light, 1 dark) DK weight yarn (woolen, acrylic, mix) – not thinner then 100g/240-266m (~262 yds), in favorite color combination (For example Lana Gatto Camel Hair – 50gr/125m);
